BLACK-LETTER RULES

Juror testimony may not be used to impeach a verdict unless the testimony relates to an outside influence that affected jury.

[ Tanner v. United States, 1987 ]

Evidence that directly corroborates a witness's credibility is admissible, even if the evidence relates to facts not known to the witness.

Relevant evidence should not be admitted if the sole effect of evidence was to inflame the jury.
